With a face that could melt the heart of even the most hardened criminal, David Archuleta quickly achieved cult status after success from the TV show American Idol. That is not to say this baby faced singer is without talent.

David Archuleta ended the 7th season of American Idol as the runner up losing only to David Cook. The 17 year high schooler from Utah certainly had his share of fans receiving nearly 97 million votes. He began singing at age 6 after being inspired from the musical Les Miserables and got his influences from his mom’s Latin heritage and father’s large music collection of soul, gospel, rock and pop greats. At 12 years old he made his TV debut on Star Search and was the Junior Vocal Champion. It was American Idol though that pushed David into the heart of America.

One can only expect David’s career to continue to develop after his Idol success. His first three singles all landed in the Billboard Top 100 and his “Imagine” rendition was a Top 10 iTunes download. You can get his newest single “Crush” which veers away from his typical ballads into more danceable pop.
